Aimee

Meaning & History

Riebold

(female) French: originally a vernacular nickname meaning ‘beloved’, from the past participle of French aimer ‘to love’ (Latin amare; compare Amy). It has been in use in French since the Middle Ages, although it has never been very common. It is now also used, with or without the accent, as a given name in the English-speaking world.

Variant: Aimi.
