Strayhorn

Origin unidentified. Possibly an Americanized form of Strachan, Straughan, reflecting the pronunciation, or of Strawhorn, a Scottish name found in Ayrshire and Dumfries, which Black believes to be of local origin, from the lands of Strowarrane or Strawarrane, recorded in Ayr in the 17th century.
