Meaning & History

Ric

(female) Name which first appeared in the 1870s and has continued to grow steadily in popularity ever since. Its derivation is not clear; if it is not simply an arbitrary creation, it may be an altered form of Delia or Delilah, or a short form of Adela. In modern use it is sometimes taken as a feminine form of Dell.
