Meaning & History

Okelberry

(female) Latinate feminine form of George. It was borne by a 5th-century saint who became a recluse near Clermont in the Auvergne and, more recently, by the celebrated American artist Georgia O'Keeffe (18871986). It has been very popular since the mid-1990s.
