FOREBEARS Daniel Kellogg (1630–88), from Great Leighs, Essex, England, settled in Norwalk, CT, in 1656. His son, Edward (1790–1858), was a financial reformer and the intellectual father of Greenbackism (a movement favoring promotion of economic growth by increasing the paper money supply, regardless of the inflationary side effects).
