Mi

(male) Transferred use of the surname, meaning originally ‘son of Jack’ and in modern times sometimes bestowed with precisely this meaning. In the United States it has also been used in honour of President Andrew Jackson (17671845), the Confederate general Thomas ‘Stonewall’ Jackson (182463), and more recently the painter Jackson Pollock (191256).
