1. English: unexplained; perhaps a variant of Pink.

2. Chinese 平: there are two sources of this name, which also means ‘peace’. One is the name of a senior minister of the state of Qi during the Spring and Autumn period (722–481 BC), who was posthumously named Yan Pingzhong. The other source is a city called Ping in the state of Han during the Warring States period (403–221 BC). It was granted to a marquis whose descendants adopted the place name as their surname.
