Frost

(male) Transferred use of the surname, in origin a nickname for someone of an icy or unbending disposition or who had white hair or a white beard. (Old English frost is a derivative of frēosan ‘to freeze’.) As a first name it may sometimes be given to a child born during an exceptionally cold spell, or in honour of the American poet Robert Frost (1874–1963).
