FOREBEARS Michael Wiegand, aged 52, came to North America from the Palatinate in western Germany as part of a group led by the Rev. Joshua Kocherthal. They sailed up the Hudson River and settled on lands at Quassick Creek, then Dutchess Co., NY, 1709. His descendants later left the Hudson River settlement and migrated to Tulpehocken, PA.
